The Arribes del Duero Natural Park is located on the banks of the Douro River and some of its tributaries in the section border between Spain (Salamanca and Zamora) and Portugal. The Douro River has saved the slope of the peneplain, which is an average altitude of 650m above sea level, carving deep valleys with steep slopes on which runs encased in its progress towards the Atlantic. The above is a natural setting of steep canyons and steep slopes.
