Camping in Andalucía
The region of Andalucia offers visitors the chance to discover the richness of its artistic heritage, natural parks, hills and mountains throughout its eight provinces: Doñana, Sierra Nevada, Grazalema, Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas , Sierra Subete, Hornachuelos, Aracena, among many others. It also has an extensive coastline with pristine beaches and the Bay of Cadiz and the Cabo de Gata, or the main point of connection to the rest of Spain, Despeñaperros, a natural park pass. The Community of Andalusia, south of Spain, extends over an area of 87,280 km2 and comprises eight provinces: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga and Sevilla. Its first known inhabitants were the Iberians and the Celts. Later it was colonized by Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans. Then, after the Arab invasion, Cordoba was the capital of the independent caliphate. It dissolved, Sevilla, Málaga, Jaén and Córdoba were the most important Taifa kingdoms, and later that of Granada, until 1492, when it was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs.
