Camping in Almería
Almería. Located on the Mediterranean, south of the Murcia coast, its climate is mild even in winter. Both the capital and the province offers many interesting possibilities to explore its tourist attractions. You can start your tour of the Alcazaba (ss. viii-ix), Moorish fortress built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city, with three walled enclosures and a tower built in the fifteenth century by the Catholic Monarchs with a Gothic portal. The cathedral (sixteenth century) was designed by Diego de Siloam and is built on the site of an ancient mosque, a Gothic structure. Circling, the Old Town and the Plaza de la Constitution. In the city center Purchena Gate and the Street of Shops, considered the most traditional of the city. Interestingly, also the Archaeological Museum.
Other points of interest: Adra, a former Phoenician colony and later Roman, now converted into a modern city that is in the valley its fishing fleet and its source of nourishment. The itinerary Cabo de Gata Carboneras is the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar, a spectacular landscape of volcanic mountains (the only ones in the entire Iberian Peninsula). In domestic trips is the desert of Tabernas (scene of many "western"), the Cuevas de Almanzora, Huércal-Overa, Albox, Macael (marble quarries). Above, Baza and Guadix lead to Granada. To the west of Almeria, Spain (10 km), Roquetas de Mar (18 km) and Almeria (30 km) are resorts with good tourist facilities. Inside, from Andarax River Valley, thousands of orange trees can be seen, through Canjáyar (48 km from Almería) and Andarax Lanjarón (72 km) you access to the wild but attractive region of the Alpujarras.
