Camping in Jaén
Jaén. Although not considered, erroneously, as a tourist destination, offers interesting attractions and a great artistic heritage. The visit can start climbing the fortress of St. Catherine, whose tower is located on a hill overlooking the city. At the foot of the fortress lies the Old Town with its red tile roofs and pink, among them the towers of the cathedral (ss. XVI-XVIII), Renaissance. From here, heading north, are the sober Mudejar church of S. Bartholomew and the restored convent of Santa Clara (s. xiii). From there you can also get to the chapel of S. Mudejar Andrew.
Turning back, down the street Aguilar, one arrives at S. Arch Lorenzo (s. xv), and heading toward the fashionable, the church of S. Ildefondo (s. xiv).
Other points of interest: In the foothills of Sierra Morena, Bailen (Church of the Incarnation, s. xvi), surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and orchards. To Cordoba, Andujar, with its Roman bridge of thirteen arches, and the churches of Santa Marina (Gothic), Santiago and, most importantly, Santa Maria (Renaissance and Mudejar tower facade.) To the east, Linares and Ubeda, the so-called Andalusian Salamanca "with churches of Salvador (Renaissance) and St. Mary of the Alcazar (Moorish Gothic). Address is Jaén Baeza, a city historic-cultural landmark, Cathedral (xiii) Gothic-Mudejar.
Saw your name, Cazorla stronghold during the Moslem-preserved castles and Ivy Five Corners, along with other interesting monuments. Born near the Guadalquivir, constituting the whole one of the most attractive landscapes of Spain. In the mountains, at sunset, you can see up close deer, goats, mountain sheep and other species of native fauna.
