Las Palmas. Its foundation goes back to s. xv. Gran Canaria's capital retains an important cultural and historical heritage is manifested through its many museums, monuments and archaeological sites. The cathedral (ss. XV-XIX) is in Gothic style with neoclassical facade. La Casa de Colón (s. xv), the Castle of Light and, in general, the former Vegueta are places worth visiting. But today, the great attraction of this city, and Gran Canaria's beaches (such as the Quarry) and its advantageous tourist infrastructure of international fame. Other points of interest: On the island, Arucas, Cruz de Tejeda, Artenara Gáldar, La Orotava, Maspalomas and Telde. In the other islands that make up the province, Lanzarote Island with spectacular views of volcanoes known as "moon" by the peculiarity of the terrain. Fuerteventura: Stunning beaches and the possibility of underwater fishing. Its capital is Puerto del Rosario.
