Camping in Cantabria
Located in the Cantabrian Coast, Cantabrian is the richest archaeological sites in the world (there are caves of Altamira located near the capital, Santander). Atlantic winds hit the mountains, the largest of which is the peak of Torre Blanca. Are three geographical areas: the Marina, Mountain, Campo and the valleys of the south. In its beaches feels the presence of nature, and in its parks: Liencres Dunes, Hillocks of Anson, Peñacabra Massif, etc. The autonomous region of Cantabria is located in northern Spain, overlooking the Bay of Biscay and framed by Asturias, Castilla y León and the Basque Country, occupying an area of 5,290 km2. Comprises a single province whose capital is Santander. The first signs of life detected in Cantabria can be traced back to prehistoric times, as we indicate the cave paintings found in Altamira, in the Middle Ages. In early times was occupied by the Cantabrian town of Celtic origin. Later opposed stubborn resistance to Roman rule, played an important role in the Reconquista and, centuries later, during the Napoleonic Wars.
