Camping in Cuenca

Cuenca. The city is suspended over a gorge on a narrow rocky plateau. The Old Town, isolated from the new city retains its medieval layout with narrow steep streets lined with coats of arms decorated house.
On reaching the city, and from the convent of S. Paul (s. xvi) can observe the impressive Hanging Houses (s. xiv), which houses the Museum of Abstract Art. Crossing the river by a high bridge Huécar you get to the set, which puts us in the old city, which houses the Plaza Mayor and the cathedral (ss. xii-xiii), one of the first Gothic churches built in Spain. In addition, the Archaeological Museum. From the cathedral and up the stairs of Romero and S. Julian Street Pedro, you reach the rocky outcrop on which rise the towers and the tower of the ancient Citadel, in times Palace of the Inquisition. From Júcar round, beautiful view of the gorges.

Other points of interest: Special attention deserves the Serrania de Cuenca, with two tracks: one for the Enchanted City (very original geological phenomenon not be missed), through Villalba de la Sierra and Window of Diablo, the other by Alleys in the flocks, passing the Cuervo River birth (born in Vega del Codorno).
La Mancha Cuenca is another nice way. 100 km from Cuenca, Belmonte (ss castle. Xv-xvi, former collegiate), Mota del Cuervo (at the foot of the Sierra de Los Molinos), S. Clemente (city founded in the twelfth century), Alarcón (Plaza surrounded by strong Júcar), Villaescusa de Haro (Collegiate Gothic), Garcimuñoz castle (fifteenth century) and the flint.
A unique excursion Beauty is visiting Hoz de Beteta (beautiful scenery and cave), going Vadillos Bridge and back, the resort of Solan de Cabras, Gate of Hell and the Strait of Priego (between Cañamares and Priego, riverside Escabas) . Another beautiful hike is Cuenca-Arcas-Valeria, Roman remains. And Uclés-Segóbriga-Huete-Ercávica, west of Cuenca, interesting route with high doses of historical content, artistic and archaeological heritage.
