Camping in Burgos

Burgos. The name of this city, north of Castilla y León, comes from the nuclei of merchants who settled in a major junction of roads medieval: the boroughs.
Its landmark summit is the impressive cathedral that shapes the city declared a World Heritage Site for its outstanding architectural and artistic value. Bello is also the monastery of Las Huelgas, within which stands the Museum of rich fabrics, with trophies of war in the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). This is a Cistercian monastery called, at times, "El Escorial de Castilla la Vieja", being at once the palace, royal tomb and monastery.
To the east of the capital is the Charterhouse of Miraflores, with tomb of King John II (father of Isabella the Catholic) and his wife Isabel of Portugal. Historical memories in the halls of the Casa del Cordón, where the Catholic Monarchs received Columbus after his second trip. Important are also the churches of S. Esteban and S. Lesmes, Miranda's palace and the King's Hospital, founded by Alfonso VIII to house the pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago.

Other points of interest: The characteristic of towns and villages outside the province of Burgos form a genuinely Spanish appearance, sturdy and austere, with packaging ... Thus, Miranda de Ebro is conspicuous by its old houses, situated on the riverbank. With its air of romance, recall the past that evoke the architecture of the peoples of northern Spain.
Other major cities are Aranda de Duero (visit recommended), Covarrubias, where the famous Tower of Doña Urraca- Salas de los Infantes, and the monumental Villadiego Lerma, the stately Espinosa de los Monteros and north of the province of Burgos, with the Ebro and the northern pine forests.
