Camping in Lugo
Lugo. The largest of the provinces of Galicia, its 9,980 km2 extending from the Cantabrian coast to the Sil basin, and from the border of Asturias to Galicia Cordal on the right side of the Miño.
The main interest of city is, without doubt, the wall surrounding the city in a diameter of 2,140 m. Built in the s. ii with defensive, is the only urban area of the peninsula completely preserved Roman city wall. The Cathedral (xii) kept inside the oldest parts of the Romanesque style. In the church of Sto. Domingo (s. xv), late Gothic is the Museum of Fine Arts, one of the best provincial museums in Spain.
Other points of interest: Mondoñedo second monumental city of the province, is nestled in a picturesque valley north of Lugo and retains an old town with many attractions. Viveiro, on the coast, contains the Romanesque church of Santa Maria and La Porta Maggiore (s. xvi). To the south, 62 km from Lugo, Monforte de Lemos is, located on a hill atop which includes the monastery of S. Vicente del Pino (s. x).
Deserves special mention Lugo coast, one of the most beautiful and least known of the mainland coast. If you access it from Ribadeo, Meira can visit the Romanesque church of the Cistercian monastery of Santa Maria (s. xii).
