Camping in Ourense
Orense. Despite being the only Galician province landlocked, is compensated for its 200 km long and navigable fresh water, framed in a land of rugged terrain.
The city, located on the left bank of the river Minho, has one of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in Europe: the Ponte Vecchio, which allows access to the town. The old town is declared a National Artistic and it is the cathedral, next to the Plaza Mayor, built in the s. xii. The transition from Romanesque to Gothic can be seen in the cloister of S. Francisco. Also noteworthy is the church of the Blessed. Trinidad.
Other points of interest: Some rivers in the north, Nogueira de Ramuín shown in a dream landscape the monastery of S. Esteban de Ribas de Sil (s. x), whose church combines Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance. Esgos towards the west, you can admire the monastery of S. Pedro de Rocas (s. vi), carved in stone. Further inland there to visit Puebla de Trives, Roman villa at South of Orense, 2 km from Ribadavia, Francelos is in the valley of Valparaiso, which holds one of the original samples of Galician Romanesque architecture: the church of S. Ginés.
