The Murcia Region is part of Spanish. Its territory is mostly hot and arid and enjoys a Mediterranean climate, in spite of that, agriculture is irrigated. It is situated at the eastern end of the Betic Cordilleras. The Spanish Constitution of 1978 gave it the status of autonomy it enjoys today.
