Camping in álava
capital of this province and the Basque Country is Vitoria. It originated in the small village of Gasteiz, built atop the old town. In 1181 the king of Navarre Sancho VI the Wise gave its town charter under the name of New Victoria.
You can start your visit from the Florida Park and the new cathedral (Cathedral of the Immaculate), southern historical center, and go to the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca (heart of the city) and lookouts on the east, the eighteenth-pc. Spain. In the medieval and Renaissance church of S. Miguel (s. xiv), attached to the outside, jasper statue of the Virgen Blanca (honored in Vitoria). A little further up the pc. Machete, the church of S. Vicente (s. xv), and below, the Gothic church of S. Peter and the Portalón (s. xv). In the far north of the old town, the old cathedral of St. Mary (ss. xiv-xv). In the streets of Cutlery, numerous palaces and mansions of ss. xiii-xiv. As museums include the Casa de Araba and the Armory.
Other points of interest: In the northwest corner of the province, Llodio, Amurrio, Quejana ... In the far south, the Rioja wine, Laguardia and Pagano (prehistoric relics); Labastida Laguardia (interesting monuments). Bordering Guipuzcoa Aramayona Valley. Also to the north, Villarreal and Ullíbarri Gamboa (beautiful scenery). Mendoza, Trespuentes and Iruña staggered so-called "Roman Road Álava." Vitoria near the east Estíbaliz sanctuary.
