The Sierra de Gata is one of the mountains that form the Central system. Its summit marks the border between the southern provinces of Cáceres and Salamanca to the north. On the western border with Sierra Star on the border with Portugal. On the east it borders the Sierra de Francia, the separation between the two mountains could be formed by the river valley Hurdano. The northwest corner of Extremadura is a set of granite and slate hills where they have grown twenty villages. Barrier to the "air of Portugal", the Sierra de Gata is fed by streams and regatta that have made life easier for people, plants and animals. |
